One of the Greats...

Zach and I saw Adele last night at The Orpheum and...it was truly wonderful. You get the feeling that you are seeing one of the greats of our generation. Her voice is so pure and her talent is real, and obviously I can't stop gushing about her.

Her deeply powerful voice mixed with the peeling azure paint and faded Victorian artwork of the theatre made me feel as if we had time traveled if only for a few hours back to when people came together to witness something magical. I was paralyzed, I swear I just sat there with my jaw on the floor and to think she's barely 21 years old. It must have been what people felt like when they saw Billi or Ella. So amazing, and I'm pretty sure Zach enjoyed it too, although he was less familiar with her music.

It was bittersweet because it's one of our last dates before the summer hits us like a train.

When we made (dorky, albeit cute) mixtapes for each other, I included "Make You Feel My Love" which is Adele's cover of the Bob Dylan version. I think it's quickly becoming one of my favorites of all time.
